Ufotable Studios has announced that a new update regarding season 3 will be announced on December 14, 2022, ahead of Jump Festa 2023, where the series gets the Jump Super Stage. The inclusion of the

new update has prompted fans to anticipate the 2023 release date and another official trailer for the Swordsmith anime arc. Upcoming Villages.

Introducing the Upper Moon demons

Final episode of the District Arc contains some rather revealing hints about how the upcoming arc will begin.

Season 2 episode 18 depicted the Upper Moon Six brothers, Gyutaro and Daki's tragic backstories, and revealed Upper Moon Two's demon, Doma, who had turned them both into demons after finding them half dead in the street.

The final scene of episode 18, which corresponds to the end of chapter 97 of the manga, shows Akaza being summoned to Muzan's Infinity Palace. This reminds the demons that one of the upper moons has been killed by the Demon Slayers.

The Demon Slayer anime tends to maintain the manga's narrative chronology. Therefore, it's likely that season 3 episode 1 will start animating arc with chapter 98, which introduces the Moon Demons or The Upper Moon who gather in the Infinity Palace.

Their interaction will not only give fans a glimpse into each demon's personality but will provide further insight into their relationship with each other and with their master, Demon Lord Kibutsuji Muzan.

This scene was also integral to setting up the main antagonists of the Swordsmith Village arc, Upper Moon Five Gyokko and Four, Hantengu.

Demon Slayer season 3 episode 1 will probably switch from Demon Moon (The Upper Moon)'s audience with Muzan in the Infinity Palace to a flashback showing Yoriichi Tsugikuni's friendship with Sumiyoshi.

The series has yet to reveal why Tanjiro's father can perform the Hinokami Kagura dance and has the hanafuda earrings, which are Yoriichi's signature ornaments.

But a final flashback exploring the relationship between Yoriichi and Tanjiro reveals that the last ancestor, Sumiyoshi, was a close friend of Yoriichi, and expresses a desire to pass his story on to the next generation, knowing that the legendary Demon Slayer has no successor.
